Poetry Wednesday #39

Vellum

My body is a storybook
You can read if you know how.
Every line and scar and stretch mark
Tells the tale from then to now:
From birth to adolescence
Thru my teen years and beyond—
From my first step to my last kiss,
Every friendship and blood bond.
If you could see inside my insides
You'd find chapters written there.
The poetry of bones and blood
Flows through my skin and hair.
My flesh records the story
Of my life from age to age,
You can read it if you'd like
You just need to turn the page.
